347 Stainless Steel Coil
Stainless steel 347, also known as 0Cr18Ni11Nb, is an austenitic chromium steel. Its main components include chromium (18 per cent), nickel (11 per cent) and niobium (also known as columbium, which makes up more than 5 per cent). It also contains small amounts of other elements such as carbon, manganese, phosphorus, silicon and sulphur. The addition of niobium gives this stainless steel superior properties to the more common 304 and 316 stainless steels. In addition, it has a yield strength of ≥205/MPa, tensile strength of ≥520/ MPa, elongation of ≥35%, and hardness tests: HBS ≤187, HRB ≤90, HV ≤200. This alloy is stabilised by the addition of chromium and tantalum, and offers higher creep and stress fracture properties than alloys 304 and 304L. In practice, Stainless Steel 347 is widely used for welded parts at high temperatures and is often used as a structural strength component due to its increased strength without loss of plasticity. In addition, it can also be used in the manufacture of chemical equipment, marine equipment, automotive parts, food processing equipment and other fields.
