Electrolytic Tinplate Strip
Tinplate, thin steel sheet coated with a tin coating by immersion in molten metal or by electrolytic deposition; almost all tinplate is now produced by the latter process. The tinplate produced through this process is essentially a sandwich in which the central core is strip steel. The core is cleaned in an pickling solution and then passed through a bath containing an electrolyte with tin deposited on both sides. As the strip passes through a high-frequency electric induction coil, it is heated, causing the tin coating to melt and flow, forming a shiny coating. The final product has approximately 0.00003 inches (0.00076 mm) of tin coating on each side. Electrolytic ETP is characterized by a beautiful metallic luster. By selecting the surface finish of the base steel plate, products with various surface roughness can be produced. ETP product features ①Excellent corrosion resistance: By selecting an appropriate coating weight, proper corrosion resistance is obtained for the contents of the container. ②Excellent coating and printability: Use various varnishes and inks to print beautifully to enhance protection, and create different packaging for different products; ③Excellent weldability and weldability: tinplate is widely used in brazing and sweat welding to manufacture various types of tanks. At present, resistance welding is used in the can making industry, and the amount of ordinary tin plating can meet the use requirements; ④Excellent formability and strength: By selecting the appropriate tempering grade, appropriate formability for various applications and the required strength after forming can be obtained. ⑤Beautiful appearance: Select base steel plates with different surface roughness to produce products with different surface roughness.
