Prepainted Galvanized Steel Coil

PPGI is pre-coated galvanized iron plate, also known as pre-coated steel plate, coil-coated steel plate, color-coated steel plate, etc., usually using hot-dip galvanized steel plate as the base material. Prepainted galvanized steel coil is a kind of color coated steel coil (PPGI coil). It uses galvanized steel as the base metal. The zinc layer has strong corrosion resistance. Coupled with painting, it is more durable than galvanized steel. The metal-coated steel then goes through a number of cleaning procedures, pre-treatment solutions and finally gets a multi-layer organic coating including laminate, vinyl dispersion and paint. This technique of successively applying different coatings is called coil coating. As a result, steel coils do not require painting or finishing when used in finished products. The coil coating process can be used on other substrates than "pure" galvanized steel, such as aluminium, or aluminium, stainless steel or alloy coated steel. However, only "pure" galvanized steel is commonly referred to as PPGI.
