Reinforced Steel Bar

Reinforced steel bars are rebars that are combined with ordinary cement concrete to form reinforced concrete. These structures thus form a reinforced concrete concrete structure (R.C.C). Steel bars are often referred to as "rebars". The tensile properties of concrete structures are obtained by adding steel reinforcement. Steel bars are strong in both tension and compression. The tensile properties provided by the reinforcement will prevent and minimize concrete cracking under tensile loads. Rebar and concrete have similar coefficients of thermal expansion because they undergo similar expansion when their temperature changes. This property will ensure that the concrete is subjected to minimal stress during temperature changes. The rebar surface is patterned to create a proper bond with the surrounding concrete material.
